Measure 115 Establishes a procedure for the Legislature to impeach elected state executives
49 of our 50 states have an impeachment process very similar to that outlined in the US constitution for the president and other administrative officials. Unlike these states, removal of statewide elected officers in Oregon can only be accomplished through a recall. That process is expensive, labor intensive and ultimately results in what could be characterized as a popularity contest. Measure 115 would bring Oregon an impeachment process with all the biblical characteristics of justice that exists at our federal level. These include specific charges, witnesses, a trial in the Senate overseen by a Supreme Court judge, a two thirds majority in both House and Senate to convict and a deliberative process. This measure is particularly needed in Oregon because of a decades long rule of the administrative state by the Democrat Party. The result has been increasing corruption and the failure to police this corruption on the part of the administration. We strongly urge a yes vote on Measure 115.
