Trump Defunds Planned Parenthood, But Oregon Tax Dollars Pick Up the Slack

For years Congress has failed to defund Planned Parenthood, in spite of PP’s providing abortions. Federal law prohibits federal funds from being used to pay for abortions. The Trump administration has adopted new rules requiring recipients of Title X money providing non-abortion services must keep that money separate from funds used for abortion.

Planned Parenthood has decided to not comply, choosing instead to lose the sixty million dollars of federal funding. Great news! What Republican lawmakers have refused to do, the Trump administration has accomplished. Big win for liberty and life!

The bad news is that Governor Kate Brown’s administration declared this past week that they will send three million Oregon taxpayer dollars to PP in our state. The 2020 elections are coming.
