Boris Johnson, Trump, Brexit, and Global Governance

December 12, 2019 marked a momentous day in British history. Under Boris Johnson, conservatives won their largest Parliamentary majority since the days of Margaret Thatcher. And the Labor party, the equivalent of our Democrat Party, suffered its worst loss in 100 years. The big issue was Brexit, the British exit from the EU, and its rejection of global governance.

Make America Great Again is rooted in the belief that the best way to help the world is to have a strong, free, and self-governing America. The movement towards global governance, a move away from citizen representation, is harmful to countries and the globe as well. Global governance means global loss of liberty, and liberty is the source of human flourishing.

The British election should be a source of great hope for advocates of advancing liberty through the rejection of global governance.
